The National and Regional Celebrations Committee

The National and Regional Celebrations Committee

The National and Regional Celebrations Committee is responsible for the organisation of the official celebration of the 5 National Days of Malta in Gozo, i.e. Freedom Day (31st March), Sette Giugno (7th June), Victory Day (8th September), Independence Day (21st September) and Republic Day (13th December). These official celebrations on the island of Gozo complement the national celebrations held in Malta and are usually held on an alternate date close to the National feast day. The committee, is then, also responsible for other celebrations held on a regional level, such as the central Gozo Carnival and Gozo Day which falls on 28th October.

Il-Kumitat Festi Nazzjonali u Reġjonali huwa responsabbli mill-organizzazzjoni taċ-ċelebrazzjonijiet uffiċjali tal-ħames festi nazzjonali ta’ Malta f’Għawdex, i.e. Jum il-Ħelsien (31 ta’ Marzu), Sette Giugno (7 ta’ Ġunju), Jum il-Vitorja (8 ta’ Settembru), Jum l-Indipendenza (21 ta’ Settembru) u Jum ir-Repubblika (13 ta’ Diċembru). Dawn iċ-ċelebrazzjonijiet uffiċjali fuq il-gżira Għawdxija jikkumplimentaw iċ-ċelebrazzjonijiet nazzjonali li jsiru mill-Gvern Ċentrali f’Malta u ġeneralment isiru fi ġranet alternattivi qrib il-Festa Nazzjonali. Il-kumitat huwa wkoll responsabbli minn ċelebrazzjonijiet oħra li jsiru fuq livell reġjonali, bħall-Karnival ta’ Għawdex, u Jum Għawdex fit-28 t’Ottubru, fost l-oħrajn.
